Replacement timber windows and doors for a family home in Claygate

Woodland was commissioned to replace the timber casement and sash windows and doors to this beautiful, prominent, family home in the heart of Claygate village.

The customer’s contractor had been let down by another supplier and they needed to find an alternative provider for their windows and doors. Being on our doorstep, we were only too happy to step in and help, and we worked closely alongside the contractor to make and install a range of traditional timber sash windows, casement windows, french doors and front doors. The client wanted to ensure the period detailing was retained and restored wherever possible; something we take pride in doing.

Everything had to be timed to coordinate with the rest of the renovation work, so we delivered the project in stages as each element of the house was completed. This meant working closely with the contractor to ensure the timing worked for everyone, and we worked alongside the electricians, carpenters and bathroom fitters on site so the windows went in at the right time. We then returned to complete the installation of a number of period-style architraves and other internal trims when the rooms were ready. It was a great project, and everything was completed to a very high specification.

We are pleased to say the contractor and their team were all excellent, and everyone worked well together. This makes such a difference on a job like this, where cooperation is important in delivering a finished result on time and to a high standard. Since completing this project, Woodland has continued to work with the contractor on other jobs, so we like to think this was a great success.
