Woodland offers a choice of timber to suit your individual requirements. All our timber is FSC as standard, and we only use the highest quality materials in everything we manufacture. All timber is sourced with durability, stability and sustainability in mind.

Accoya™

Accoya™ is an ultra-high performance sustainable wood and offers extreme durability, superior stability (doesn’t move or shrink) and requires very little maintenance. Nearly all products we manufacture features Accoya

Exceptional performance

Accoya is a premium product and its performance is second to none. The wood is warrantied for 50 years above ground and 25 years below ground or in freshwater, meaning that Accoya products will often last at least twice as long as cheaper alternatives. Not only that but the longer coating life and superior insulation afforded by Accoya mean that ongoing costs are cheaper than with other timbers in many applications and its exceptional stability means that you are far less likely to experience issues with movement, even in challenging situations.

Sustainability

Performance and sustainability together are what makes Accoya so unique. The trees selected to make Accoya are sourced from fast growing, abundantly available sustainably certified forests. Accoya sustainable wood offers an alternative to slow growing and often unsustainable hardwoods, as well as many other carbon intensive and depleting materials such as plastics, aluminium and steel.

Red Grandis

Red Grandis is a high-quality engineered hardwood, ethically sourced and 100% FSC certified. It is perfect for external joinery including windows and doors as it is very durable, easy to machine and takes paint very well. Red Grandis is a sub-species of Eucalyptus which is very fast growing as well as being straight, perfect for joinery. We use Red Grandis in our sash windwo frame construction, as well as other external elements and windows in wet environments (bathrooms etc.).

Tulip

Tulip is a hardwood from the United States, otherwise known Poplar. It is not suitable for external joinery as it is not durable, but it is a beautiful, light coloured timber that finishes with a very fine surface, perfect for internal architraves other window trims. It can also be used in the manufacture of internal joinery such as internal doors. All Tulip wood specified by Woodland of Kingston is FSC certified.

Tricoya

Tricoya is the MDF equivalent to Accoya. It has all the benefits of MDF with the added advantages of Accoya including extreme durability, dimensional stability, and low maintenance. This makes Tricoya perfect for external joinery such as door panels and applied fret-work. Find out more about the benefits of using Tricoya.
