Born 30 years ago from a bespoke joinery and design practice, Woodland has evolved to offer a range of timber windows and doors which we believe is unsurpassed. We remain a family-run business and we are proud to say all our wooden windows and doors are manufactured in the UK at our factory in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey.
We strive to achieve perfection in quality, personal service and attention to detail in everything we do. From initial design to finished installation we tailor our service to suit your needs, combining traditional design with modern technology.
Woodland has always been a family run business and was founded by John West in 1978. In 2003 John’s son Chris joined the company. Chris had grown up around Woodland, helping in the workshop in the holidays when he was young and working on-site when he was a little older. He then returned to the company following his time at university, and has been with Woodland ever since.
John remains involved with Woodland to this day and still takes an active part in the continued evolution and design of our products. To this day Woodland is family run, and we hope this comes across in the way we treat our customers.
John Founded Woodland in 1978 and built the company from the ground up. John is responsible for many of the designs of the windows and doors we manufacture today, and he still plays an active role in the business. John’s architectural design background and eye for design detail helps Woodland stand out from the crowd and enables us to provide that unique service our customers expect.
Chris has been involved with Woodland in one way or another since he was old enough to walk. Today he is responsible for the day to day running of the company and oversees the management of many of our key projects.
Chris Gould moved from his native South Africa in 2004. His first job in the UK was with Woodland, working as a machinist, and he has been a big part of the team ever since. Chris’s imagination, ingenuity and knowledge of woodworking machines has been instrumental in Woodland’s continued product innovation. He has helped oversee the implementation of modern machinery including a hi-tech CNC machining centre, which has greatly improved production. When Chris is not at work he is at home with his wife and daughter. He’s a keen climber, but is most at home when he is grilling steak on his Braai!
Neil started with Woodland as a joinery apprentice in 1993 when he was just 16. Since then, he has gained a wide range of experience in joinery and has worked in all areas of the company. Neil progressed to working on site and has successfully managed the Woodland installation team for many years. In recognition of his long service and achievements, Neil is now a Director of Woodland. He is also a proud Dad, and his son Harvey has followed in his footsteps, joining Woodland as a joinery apprentice.
